Forever Living makes two aloe lotions that people often mix up: Aloe Moisturizing Lotion (4 oz.) and Aloe Body Lotion (8 fl. oz.). They share an aloe base but differ in ingredients, texture and what Forever says they are for. This page covers what is in Aloe Moisturizing Lotion on the US label, including the fragrance and parabens, how it differs from the body lotion, and how to use it.
What Aloe Moisturizing Lotion is
Forever describes it as a silky lotion with a rich, indulgent texture that locks in moisture, made for hands and body and for dry, chafed, windblown skin. It is a lotion, not a gel: the formula uses stabilized aloe vera gel as the first ingredient and builds a creamy emulsion around it. For the product page with current price and package, see Aloe Moisturizing Lotion.
What is on the US ingredient list
- Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (stabilized aloe vera gel) — listed first, followed by water.
- Oils and emollients — apricot kernel oil, jojoba seed oil, C12-15 alkyl benzoate, hydrogenated polyisobutene, dimethicone (a silicone).
- Humectants — sorbitol, sodium hyaluronate, sodium PCA, methyl gluceth-20.
- Also listed — soluble collagen, hydrolyzed elastin, tocopherol (vitamin E), ascorbic acid, allantoin and chamomile flower extract.
- Preservatives — diazolidinyl urea, methylparaben and propylparaben.
- Fragrance — listed as Fragrance (Parfum).
Two points matter if you are choosing by label. First, this lotion contains fragrance and two parabens, so it is not a “paraben-free” or “fragrance-free” product. Second, the ingredient list shows what is in the bottle, not how much: percentages are not published.

In practice: if you want a paraben-free body moisturizer, the Aloe Body Lotion is the one whose US label lists none. If you prefer a thicker, richer feel on hands, elbows and knees, the Aloe Moisturizing Lotion is the one Forever describes that way. For a richer cream with propolis and lanolin, see the Aloe Propolis Creme guide.
How to use it
- Apply after washing. Forever’s directions are simply to apply liberally as needed. Putting it on right after a shower or hand washing, while skin is slightly damp, is a common way to use any lotion.
- Start small on the face. Forever positions this lotion for hands and body. If you want to try it on your face, patch test first and keep it away from the eyes, because it contains fragrance.
- Patch test. Forever advises a patch test if you are unsure about sensitivity: apply a small amount to the inner forearm and wait 24 hours.
- In a routine. Use it as the moisturizer step after cleansing, with sunscreen on top in the morning if you are outdoors. A full routine is in the hydrating skincare routine guide.
Who may want to look elsewhere
Skip this lotion, or ask a healthcare professional first, if you avoid parabens, silicones or fragrance, or if you know you react to any ingredient on the list above. Forever’s products are for external use only, and Forever advises consulting a healthcare professional during pregnancy.
